This Client Win Made Me Cry Happy Tears 💙

Pursuing true North

Hey friend,

I have to tell you—last week's newsletter got SO many responses, and I'm still reading through all of them! So many of you shared your struggles, your hopes for next year, and your determination to make things different. It meant the world to me, and I'm cheering for every single one of you.

But this week, I want to talk about something that has me absolutely BUZZING with excitement.

The Updates That Made Me Cheer From My Seat

Last week, I received two client updates that literally had me cheering out loud at my desk.

One in particular made me tear up (happy tears, I promise). This couple told me: "Thank you so much for helping us change our family tree."

CHANGE. THEIR. FAMILY. TREE.

Y'all. That's why I do this. That's why I show up. That's why I keep talking about money even when it's uncomfortable.

What "Changing Your Family Tree" Actually Looks Like

I can't share all the details (gotta protect their privacy!), but here's what I CAN tell you:

This family had some really hard conversations. The kind of conversations nobody wants to have—about boundaries, about money, about what's sustainable and what's not.

And in 2025? Everything started clicking into place.

Their adult daughter learned to navigate her own finances and make tough decisions about her living situation. One spouse finally landed a full-time job they'd been dreaming about. The other doubled their income by taking on new opportunities and overtime. They paid off family debt. They made hard but wise decisions about their lifestyle.

And since June, they've paid off nearly $26,000 in debt.

But here's what gets me even more than the numbers—it's EVERYTHING ELSE that changed.

Because money really does touch every aspect of life. When you get your money right, other things fall into place too. Relationships improve. Stress decreases. You can make decisions based on what's best for your family, not just what you can barely afford.

You get to design your life instead of just surviving it.

It's Not Just About the Big Wins

Now, I know not everyone is going to pay off $26,000 in six months. And that's OKAY.

Because the other client update I got? It was celebrating something that might seem "smaller" to some people—but it was absolutely HUGE for them.

Progress is progress, no matter what it looks like.

Maybe your win is:

  • Finally looking at your bank account instead of avoiding it
  • Saying no to something you couldn't afford
  • Saving your first $100
  • Making it through the holidays without adding debt
  • Having a money conversation with your spouse that didn't turn into a fight
  • Paying off ONE bill

Those things matter. They ALL matter.

Every small step forward is changing your trajectory. Every intentional choice is building momentum.

Now It's Your Turn

I want to hear YOUR wins!

What's something you're proud of from 2025? What progress have you made, no matter how small?

Hit reply and tell me. Seriously. I read every email, and I want to celebrate with you.

Because here's the thing—when we celebrate our wins, we build confidence. We prove to ourselves that we CAN do hard things. We create momentum for the next step.

So don't dismiss your progress. Don't wait until you've "arrived" to give yourself credit.

Celebrate where you are RIGHT NOW.

P.P.S. If you're navigating parenting while trying to get your finances together (which, let's be honest, is most of us!), check out this resource from my colleague Devora Segall, a licensed clinical social worker and parenting coach, who created a short 3-Step Guide to Reconnect with Your Kids & Enjoy Being a Mother Again — and it’s been helping a lot of moms who feel stuck in the yelling–guilt cycle.

The guide walks you through a few simple steps to stay calm, handle big emotions, and rebuild connection — even when your kids are testing every limit.

You can grab it free here: 👉 3-Step Guide to Reconnect with Your Kids. It’s a quick read, but moms say it changes the tone in their homes almost immediately.

P.P.P.S. I’m not sure how long Devora’s keeping this free, so if it sounds like something you could use, download it now while it’s still available.

See you next week!
