Hey friend,
Can we talk about something that might sound a little counterintuitive?
Being generous actually helps you manage your money better.
I know, I know. You're thinking, "Jenny, I'm barely making ends meet. How is GIVING money away going to help my situation?"
Stay with me here.
It's About More Than the Money
When you're struggling financially, it's easy to develop a scarcity mindset. Everything feels tight. Every dollar feels precious. You hold on with clenched fists because you're terrified of running out.
But here's what I've learned: Learning to hold money with an open hand changes everything. 👐
Generosity—whether it's with your time when you have no money, or with a little bit of money when you can—shifts your perspective. It reminds you that you DO have something to give. That you're not just surviving, you're actually capable of helping someone else.
And that mental shift? It's huge.
When you operate from abundance instead of scarcity, you make better decisions. You think more clearly. You stop panicking. You start planning.
Generosity breaks the grip that fear has on your finances.
And I’ve seen this lived out beautifully in my sweet friend, Cyndi.
She and her husband always knew adoption was on their hearts. In fact, when they were dating, it was a deal breaker—if the other didn’t want to adopt, the relationship wouldn’t continue. They didn’t fully realize it then, but God was already writing their story.
They fostered and adopted all three of their children. And while the day the papers were signed was joyful, it wasn’t the finish line. In many ways, it was just the beginning.
Love grew. But so did unexpected expenses. Big emotions. Faith-stretching moments.
Through hard conversations, intentional budgeting, and a whole lot of prayer, they’ve watched God guide them step by step. Adoption has refined them, bonded their family, and reminded them that it’s not a moment—it’s a lifelong commitment built on love, sacrifice, and hope.
But here’s the part I want you to hear: they didn’t do it alone.
Generosity from others helped carry them through the financial weight of adoption expenses. And now, as ongoing needs arise, there’s still an opportunity to come alongside them.
If you feel led to support Cyndi and her family—whether through prayer, sharing their story, or giving financially—you’re not just helping cover expenses. You’re investing in a forever family.
And friend, that’s the beauty of generosity.
It blesses the receiver, yes.
But it also transforms the giver.
Cheering for you always,
Jenny 💙
