Happy 250th, America! πΊπΈ
Friends,
This week, our country turns 250 years old. Two and a half centuries of grit, hope, and the kind of freedom worth celebrating. As a veteran, this one hits a little different for me, and I hope you'll pause to feel the weight and the joy of it too.
Freedom is the gift. Stewardship is our thank-you.
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." - Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
There's freedom in our country's story, and there's freedom in your finances too. Both are worth protecting. So as you head out to the fireworks and the BBQs this weekend, here's my gentle reminder:
You don't have to impress anyone.
The Fourth isn't a competition. Nobody at the cookout is grading your contribution. So whatever you bring to share, make sure it fits inside your budget - not on a credit card you'll be paying off come August.
My go-to crowd-pleaser:
Gluten-free pasta salad with ranch seasoning. It's affordable, it feeds a crowd, and it disappears every single time. Simple, satisfying, and easy on the wallet.
That's the whole secret, friend - celebrate big, spend small, and let the day be about the people and the freedom, not the price tag.
Happy Independence Day! Wave that flag a little harder this year. π
Cheering for you,
Jenny
P.S. - If your holiday weekend tends to blow a hole in your budget, you're not alone. Build a small "celebration" line into your monthly plan ahead of time and watch how much lighter these weekends feel.
P.P.S. - Thank you to every veteran, service member, first responder, and military family reading this. This week is yours too. πΊπΈ
