Hey friend,
Can we be real for a minute?
If Christmas is feeling heavy right now—if you're stressed about money, worried about disappointing your kids, or dreading opening your credit card statement in January—I want you to know something:
You're not alone. And you're not failing.
I see you. I've BEEN you.
I Remember That Feeling
I've told you about our years drowning in debt. Christmas during those years? It felt like celebrating with a dark gray filter over everything.
Every shopping trip was anxiety. Every gift came with guilt. I'd tell myself, "We'll have it paid off by March." (Spoiler: we never did.)
I wanted to give my kids the magic and feel generous and joyful. But instead, I felt like I was robbing my future self to pay for my present self's inability to say no.
If that's where you are right now—take a deep breath. You're going to be okay.
Getting Through THIS Christmas
Here's what I want you to do:
Get honest with yourself. Look at what you've spent. Don't avoid it—face it. You can't fix what you won't acknowledge.
Make a plan for January. You don't need all the answers now, but start thinking about how you'll tackle whatever debt you've added.
Give yourself grace. You're doing the best you can with what you have and what you know.
Find Joy in the Little Things
Here's what I want you to remember: The best parts of Christmas don't cost money.
Your kids won't remember if the gifts were wrapped in fancy paper or brown grocery bags.
They WILL remember if you were stressed the whole season, or if you were present and joyful.
They'll remember:
- Driving around looking at Christmas lights
- Reading Christmas stories before bed
- Making cookies together
- Christmas morning excitement
- YOUR face when they opened gifts—not the size of the gifts
Find joy in the little things this season. The hot cocoa. The Christmas music. The lights on the tree. The time with people you love.
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, friend. You deserve it. 🎄💙
Making Next Year Different
Here's the truth: If you don't do something different, next Christmas is going to feel exactly like this one.
I don't say that to be harsh. I say it because I care about you, and I want better for you.
You don't have to live with this weight every December. You don't have to dread January. You don't have to choose between making your kids happy and protecting your financial future.
There's a better way.
My Group Coaching Program starts in January—six Monday nights where we tackle budgeting, debt, savings, and life design. The same proven system that got my family out of $120,000 of debt and gave us the freedom to actually ENJOY Christmas without the stress.
